Hi guys after flashing CyanogenMod on my Archos 80 cobalt, XBMC wont open after the first run install. Everytime i open it just go back to the android home screen. The nighly build is the only XBMC version that works but i cant get most of the popular programmes on the nightly build. Any help would be appreciated?

Hi,

I just got this archos chefpad and i have rooted the device fine but then i deleted the media server archos app with titanium but now it seems stuck at the welcome screen. I have done a reset but had no luck. So i went on google but cant find that much info on this tab. But i now its a rebrand with a Rockchop 3066 inside.So is there a chance this is the same tab as the familypad 2? Because i cant find any firmware for the chefpad on the archos site but i see 1 for the familypad with the same specs. So hope anyone can help me out with this so i can get my xmas gift working :(

Hi

I'm new here so hope this is in the right section.

I've been following kage00's instructions for installing CyanogenMod on the Archos 80 Cobalt (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2519781) and have so far managed to root and install CWM. So far so good.

When I boot into CWM and connect the USB cable, I cannot get Windows Vista (32 Bit) to install any of the drivers in either of the zip files on the thread. The tab shows up as a Nexus in Device Manager and I am manually selecting rockusb.inf in the x86->vista directory. I can select RK30 Device but Windows then says it has encountered an error, with the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10).

It would be great if someone could let me know if I am using the correct file and if not where I can find the correct driver to get past this stage and have the RKTool recognise the tablet.

I have and Archos 80 G9 250gb HDD version (OMAP 4460 ES1.1 - A80H-V5(T1))
I have installed [ROM] [4.3.1] CyanogenMod 10.2 as it says "Initial support for H models (testing and patches are welcome)." The ROM works really well but I cannot see the HDD at all, also if I have the tablet on and connect it to my PC with USB the PC cannot see it.

Are there any plans to support the HDD versions, I'd be happy to test and give feedback, It won't let m pot on the actual thread as I'm new...

The support for H versions was mention in version 19_12_2013-23_43_36, but I installed version 22_12_2013-13_29_20 - should I go back to the 19_12_2013-23_43_36 version and see if it works?

I had CWM installed and cynagen rom installed on my Archos tablet. I didn't like it so reflashed back to stock rom but now storage shows Firmware 1.36gb, total space 0.98gb and available 0.90gb. Where the hec is the rest? 7 gigs?

The only thing I can think of is when installing a custom rom it allocated 2gig and 6 gigs. Also I used a hack to make sd storage be seen as internal storage.

What can I do to get the 8gb back please?

Hi

I have an Archos G9 101 tablet, the first revision (1GHz CPU, 512MiB RAM)

I installed a Cyanogenmod firmware, the latest on here at the time of writing...

Unfortunately it performs like a dog, crashes all the time, can't play much video, audio can work then go off after a few minutes requiring me to mute/unmute to get it back etc.

I'd quite like to restore it to the official ICS firmware, either keeping the current partitioning scheme (preferable) or going back to it exactly as it was with the evil 1GB data partition and rest as an internal SD card.

I've tried using the recovery menu (Power with Vol -) and while I have the usual developer menu there, attempting to install the AOS firmware file appeared to work but on reboot I was still cursed with Cyanogenmod.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hello,

Does someone know how archos managed to block certain devices from the 3G usb port? I am studying the kernel source codes and the filesystems of several roms and a cannot find any references to some blocked devices. (Yes I am a expeienced C(++)/linux developer) Most devices do work on the OTG port.

Memory sticks seem to work but when i plugin a mouse of keyboard the folowing line appears in dmesg:
hub 1-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad?


What is different on the 3G Usb port?

Hi all,

I have been having some problems with my Archos 101 G9 1ghz tablet screen and heard similar problems with this model and others as well. Any time I move or hold the tablet the video screen has lines and interference problems and I searched quite a few sites to really find no answer. I decided to be bold and figure it out myself and share with anyone who has or are going to have the same problems I did, not saying it is going to fix yours of course. Mine worked fine going on a few days now 100%!

Bonjour, je cherche à actualiser mon archos G9 101 turbo (1Gb Ram, 1x1.5Ghz, 8Go).
Sur le site archos, la version s'arrête à la 4.0.28 mais j'ai vu sur votre forum que certains installent des 4.3.1 et même 4.4.2.
Je voudrais savoir quelle version la plus récente fonctionne sur mon archos sans problèmes.
Je suis Français et débutant sur android donc si vous pouvez m’expliquer clairement la procédure d'installation de cette version (si possible en Français car la traduction des thermes technique n'est pas facile).
Le Pc pour l'installation est sous windows 8.1.

Hello, I am trying to update my Archos 101 G9 Turbo (1Gb Ram, 1x1.5Ghz, 8GB).
Archos website stop at version 4.0.28 but I saw on your forum that some install 4.3.1 and even 4.4.2.
I want to know what the latest version running on my archos without problems.
I am French and newbie on android so if you can explain clearly how to install this version (if possible in French because the French translation of technical baths is not easy).
Pc for installation under Windows 8.1.

I installed [ROM] [4.4.2] CyanogenMod 11.0 from here
everything runs fine,but i cant write files to the internal storage.

For instance if i start the gallery app it tells me "No internal storage available",another app tells me it "cant write to the cache folder" because the sd is full,mounted,or write locked.Root explorer sees all the files but cant delete,move or copy/paste anything.
Apps that save/download files like podkicker or reddit act normal when trying to save the file but after the download starts the notification disapears and the file is simply not downloaded.Apps that stream content work fine,like youtube,or the stream feature of podkicker.

I have over 2gb free space so its not that,and if i plug into my pc i can move and delete files no problem.I like the rom and like i said everything else seems to work fine.

Hello, I try to moves applications on the SD to save space.
I read lot of post without finding answers that work with me.
I tried dozens of programs on the store without results.
I even try with various types of parts on SD (EXT3, ET2, FAT32).
I think the only way would be to mount or unmount a partition of the SD in creating a program or a scipt.
Unfortunately, my compétances do not go so far.
If any of you know more or have solution.

Hi All,

I have had a look around the net & forums but no joy.

I have an Archos 80 Cobalt (G9) and flashed Cynogen Mod 10.1 from XDA - the page address is

Its the release from oma7144. since flashing this, i dont like it theres seems to be too many little things that bug me, cant play some games, battery indicator dosent work, to name a few.

Im trying to find out haow to flash the stock firmware back onto device and was wondering if anyone can help me?

I have downloaded the firmware direct from Archos but not sure how to flash it onto device, I have tried placing file into root of internal memory for auto detect but this dosen't work??

any help would be appericated

Hi everybody,

I tried to be "fabulous" and attempted to root my 80G9 Turbo with 250GB.
And I actually managed to get the Temp Root to work (hence the "#" in adb shell). However, my tablet slowed down immensely from that, I barely can operate it. So I got scared and now I can't go back to normal.

I sucessfully installed the offical update file from the Archos website, but that did not get rid of the Temp Root.
To gain the Temp Root in the first place, I pushed these files "1" and "2" to /data/local and executed them, restarting after each file.
So to revert that, I tried to just remove these files. After restart, still the same thing, still Temp Root.

If I had known this before, I would not have attempted it. I thought, that Temp Root is (hence the name) temporary
but I'm stuck in it and I can't get out of it.
All my data and Apps astonishingly are still there and intact, and I am still able to listen to my music fluently,

Will I be able to go back to normal without losing data? I shouldn't have messed around. I hope someone can help me out.

I got my 101 g9 turbo last month one of the reasons I got it was because of the Archos SDE :) so I ran it stock for about a month and read everything I could find on it before rooting I saw in the Official SDE guide that the official SDE would watermark and void warranty so I decided to try the outdated SDE that didnt work, so I went into the recovery then Developer Edition Menu and uninstalled the SDE, then in recovery format system and reformatted everything. Then I updated firmware from Archos this got me back to stock. :) I then followed the Official SDE guide and Installed it but I missed a step and it forgot to remove kernel and was always having to choose what to boot. I found 55mls post and Followed this and it worked I then installed [ROM] Root & Deodex - Archos Firmware 4.0.28 ! Now everything is good I have the unofficial SDE I don't have the unicorn thingie when I boot to recovery I had it when I was using the official SDE so heres the 64 thousand dollar question is my tab watermarked and how can I check?

Hi @all,

haven't found any definite answer to this unsing the search function.

Is there any image out there supporting the HDD version of the 80G9 tablet? Except the official image of course.

Installed the lastest 4.4.2 developer image, now I know what the H-Model is (No "H" model support)... otherwise working great so far.
